StemCells, Inc. Added to NASDAQ Biotechnology Index®
PALO ALTO, Calif., (November 15, 2005) – StemCells, Inc. (NASDAQ: STEM) today announced that it has been selected to be added to the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index® (NBI) effective with the market open on Monday, November 21, 2005.
According to the NASDAQ Stock Market, all securities in the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index are classified according to the FTSE Global Classification System(TM) as biotechnology or pharmaceutical. In addition, all securities in the Index are listed on the NASDAQ National Market and meet minimum requirements, including market value, average daily share volume, and seasoning as a public company. The Index is ranked on a semi-annual basis in May and November.
