StemCells, Inc. to Present at UBS Global Life Sciences Conference

PALO ALTO, Calif., (September 21, 2006) – StemCells, Inc. (NASDAQ: STEM) today announced that Rodney Young, Chief Financial Officer, will present a corporate update at the UBS Global Life Sciences Conference scheduled for September 25-28, 2006 at the Grand Hyatt New York in New York City. Mr. Young is scheduled to speak at 3:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 27, 2006. There will be a breakout session following the presentation at which Mr. Young will be available to answer questions about the Company.
